This blog looks at how librarians deal with and manage the censorhsip of books in libraries. It has been created by Trevor Van Valkenburg and Paul Barrow, who are both graduate students at Wayne State University's Master of Library and Information Science School.
Thank you for putting up the ALA Statement on Freedom to Read. These basic tenets are what we can stand by. The paradox is it matters most on days when we're asked about books we personally think we could do without reading. Smile! The Freedom to Read means we are NOt supreme arbiter for others, based on my preference or yours. A reader who chooses is more likely to read and hone some learning skill, so it goes in the win-column for the day. Which is your favorite part of this statement?
